German Sebastian Vettel has won the Singapore Grand Prix, providing further confirmation of his dominance of Formula One – which could now see him become the youngest driver ever to win the championship two years in succession. Great Britain archery team named for London 2012 test event

The Great Britain team for the 2012 test event at Lord’s has been named and includes four previous Olympians across the men’s and women’s teams. The London Archery Classic tournament is considered one of the major international archery trophies, but it also serves as a preparation for the 2012 Olympic event – which is also set to be held at Lord’s. Surrey defeat Somerset in Clydesdale Bank 40 final

Somerset, who have so often fallen at the final hurdle when it comes to the major cricket trophies in recent years, were again disappointed at the end of this year’s Clydesdale Bank 40 final. Fabregas states he left Arsenal to win trophies

Cesc Fabregas, who rejoined boyhood team Barcelona from Arsenal in August, has stated that he knew he had to move on because he no longer believed they could compete for the top football trophies. Fabregas had been at Arsenal since the age of 16 and was a member of the side that won the FA Cup in 2005. However, the team has failed to win any major trophies in the subsequent years, and Fabregas has admitted that he could not see himself adding to his collection of football medals with them. (more…)
